As real as any other religion that has people gather in a community to share their beliefs, participate in ceremony and rituals, and form long term traditions. In a legal sense, Satanic Virginia shares similar beliefs as The Satanic Temple and other Satanic Churches, which are recognized by the United States's IRS and thereby its government as a tax-exempt religion.

We do not believe in any sort of deity, including the Judeo Christian version of God. We do not hate or at war with christians themselves. We do take issue with many of the actions and rhetoric of certain christian denominations and their followers have toward nonbelievers of their particular flavor of faith. And we certainly do not abide fascism and the crumbling of personal freedoms of any kind, whether they are supposedly ordained by a mystical deity or not.

Anyone who is respectful of our beliefs (see our Tenets) and agrees to our online and IRL rules which prohibits such things as bigotry, racism, rudeness, and trolling. We advocate for 2SLGBTQQIA+ and POC communities, religious freedom, sexual freedom/bodily autonomy, atheists, and freethinkers. One must be 18+. We are pro-consent and do not allow pedophilia, animal cruelty, and violence in our community. Members who want to become congregants should abide with our tenets, the Five Axioms.

A congregant is a someone who is a vetted member of our organization. They have done volunteer work for our events and helps run the inner workings of our organization. To be a congregant, one must be a recognized individual within our community, pass a background check, and wants to be a part of our more religious aspects of our gatherings.
